Easy Ways To Save When Dining Out

GODAY

We already know what you’re going to say. If you’re trying to save money then you shouldn’t be dining out. But we’re all busy people and there are nights where take out is the best option for the table. That’s why we created a list of all the things to look for when dining out so you’re not breaking your budget and to make sure you’re getting the best bang for your buck.

Coupons

Who else still gets these coupons in the mail? Our natural reaction is to also throw them away, but if one of your go to restaurants pops up in your mail pile, there’s no harm in sticking that on the fridge for later, especially because you never know when a busy night can appear out of nowhere. Coupons are a great way to save money. They can range from single meal deals to family style and usually have a good time period before they expire. Make sure to check online too as restaurant websites or apps will have online coupons available too!

Daily Specials

Taco Tuesday? Wine Wednesday? Most restaurants will have a special that rotates on a daily, weekly or even seasonally basis. And this can be food or drinks! So the best nights too be busy are the ones that have your favourite specials featured that day. Like coupons, if you sign up for email alerts you can have these deals sent straight to your inbox so you know what restaurant deals are happening.

Leftovers

What’s our favourite part of eating out? It’s ordering something you know that will be delicious as leftovers the next day. Getting something good that you can eat the next day helps cover two meals and means you won’t be spending any more money on lunch.

Split Something

This is a classic, and works best for appetizers! Restaurant meals can be pretty big portions so why not split an appetizer or even a main dish depending on how hungry you are (unless of course you want it for leftovers the next day).

Timing

Pre-theater meals, happy hour, late night eats, the list goes on. If you can be flexible on timing, the better the deals may be! Local restaurants are known to partner with nearby theaters and cinemas for dinner and show packages, plus restaurants slow down after the dinner rush so they offer featured menu food deals. Keep your eye out for these and don’t be afraid to ask for them either if you find yourself somewhere not during the regular food rush.
