What is the first thing that comes to mind when you think about buying in bulk? Heading to places like Costco or Real Canadian Superstore can intimidate shoppers because when it comes to shopping in bulk, it’s all about quantity. But there are times when shopping in bulk can really make a difference, especially when it comes to your wallet. That’s why we decided to let you know all the positives buying in bulk can have when it comes to saving money.
Expiration Dates
A lot of people don’t like to buy in bulk because they think that the products they purchase (especially when it comes to food) that they will not be consumed in time and will expire, causing waste and leaving you feeling like you didn’t get your money’s worth. But what you don’t know is that many products are made specifically to sell in bulk and expiration dates are made to match accordingly. This means that depending on the product, it will have a longer expiration date that you would find in a normal store.
Fewer Shopping Trips
Another perk to buying in bulk? Fewer shopping trips! Since you’ll have that much more of something, it will last you that much longer. And ultimately fewer shopping trips means you’re opening your wallet less and those extra items you always seem to get stuck picking up that cost you will also be fewer and far between. If you have a big enough family buying in bulk can really make a difference when it comes to cutting down on the number of shopping trips you have to make.
Saving Money
Our favourite perk about buying in bulk is obviously how much money you can save. Especially when bulk items go on sale, this can make a huge difference to your wallet. Why is shopping in bulk saving you money? Because typically (not all the time), the cost per unit is cheaper because there that much more of it. You do have to know your prices though, because sometimes the value size may not be worth costs. But for everyday items, this is where you will find the savings and there are many lists on items you should always buy in bulk. We’re always about saving money where we can so we are big fans of the value deals buying in bulk can provide.
